John Jeffrey Richardson August 12, 1964 – November 8, 2021 (age 57)

John Jeffrey Richardson, 57, of Orlando, Florida, died suddenly on November 8, 2021 as a result of a tragic car accident. Jeff was born on August 12, 1964 in Olney, Maryland to John Richardson and Joan (Norwood) Richardson.

Jeff graduated from Sherwood High School in 1983 and began his career in the auto body/paint business. He took his passion for cars and used his talent and creativity and opened Richardson Custom Restorations. Jeff didn’t just paint cars; he was truly an artist with the paint gun. Some of Jeff’s work was showcased in the prestigious Amelia Island Concourse d’Elegance, multiple show winners in the World of Wheels Custom Show circuit, and the cover of the ISCA Show Stopper magazine. Many of his clients have won numerous awards at national and local shows.

Jeff loved music, especially the blues and jazz, anything cars, mashed potatoes with lots of gravy (there was never room on his plate for veggies!), gallons & gallons of iced tea, Oreo cookies and most of all his best friend, Sparky. He enjoyed planning the Annual SHS Alumni & Friends Christmas Get Together and looked forward to seeing his many friends and giving hugs to everyone. Jeff had a kind heart and gentle soul and he will be missed by all.

He was predeceased by his mother Joan Richardson in 2006 and is survived by his father John Richardson (Valerie); his brother David Richardson and sister Brenda (Richardson) Marsh; niece Chelsea Marsh and nephew Casey Marsh; cousins, aunts and uncles, and so very many friends.

A celebration of life is being planned for the spring in his hometown of Ashton, Maryland.

For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions can be made in Jeff’s name to:

Ashton United Methodist Church (Building Fund) 17314 New Hampshire Ave. Ashton, MD 20861

Broadway United Methodist Church 406 E. Amelia St. Orlando, FL 32803

To the Richardson Family,
How sad I am to hear of Jeff’s passing. His family may not remember me but my first babysitting job as a teen was for him and his brother and sister. I lived one farm field from his house. I loved watching them and always admired his parents. Another fond memory was riding the bus driven by Jeff’s grandfather. From our house we could watch from the dining room window to see when he pulled the bus from his driveway and we knew exactly what time to walk out of the house. And years later, I found out Brenda moved to Adamstown, same town as me. From what I have read about Jeff, he sounds like an amazing person who loved life. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.

Fond memories,
